Meghan Markle's return to acting has been dismissed as a "long shot" by Channel 5's Royal correspondent Simon Vigar. The , who gained global fame after marrying Prince Harry and becoming a member of the , has since relocated to California with her husband.

They have launched their own production company, Archewell Productions, and announced plans for various projects. While Meghan is set to work behind the scenes as an executive producer on some of these ventures, Vigar doubts she will ever resume her acting career.

Speaking to The Sun, he said: "I think the media career, or relighting the screen career as an actress, I think that's a long shot because you can never see her as a character now, you are going to see Meghan, the Duchess, so that's difficult."

He added: "How can you believe that she is anybody else other than the person that we know so well? And as I understand it, with Netflix they still have a deal there, who are going to want their pound of flesh, obviously."

Meghan, since signing a deal with Netflix, has received significant screen time but only in her personal capacity. The Duke and Duchess were featured in their biographical docu-series, Harry and Meghan, where they narrated their love story and subsequent exit from the Royal Family.

Archewell has now announced two new Netflix series, one concentrating on polo - a sport dear to Harry's heart; and the other aligning with Meghan's newly launched lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard, spotlighting lifestyle themes such as cooking and gardening.

Simon shared his insights on Meghan's potential career progression, acknowledging that "she is obviously a mum of two young kids, that's clearly the priority," He then speculated that "once they are in school and off doing more stuff and need less constant care then I am sure the media career will grow."

However, Simon doubts that we'll see Meghan reprising roles like Rachel Zane in the legal drama Suits, concluding: "It's hard to see it in fiction though, being an actress."
