Rock on Ruby sparkles in blinkers at home
LAST year’s winner Rock On Ruby lines up in the Stan James Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham tomorrow.
Although only nine are set to go to post, it looks a fascinating and competitive renewal of the race.
He has been declared with blinkers for the first time as he has worked well in them in recent weeks.
Hurricane Fly and Binocular, the previous two winners of the two-mile blue riband, bid to regain – as opposed to retain – their crown.
Paul Nicholls runs Zarkandar, unbeaten in three starts this season, and Nicky Henderson saddles Grandouet and Khyber Kim in addition to Binocular.
“Although only nine are set to go to post, it looks a fascinating and competitive renewal of the race,” said Hills’ PR guru Richard Thomas.
“It could well be a tactical affair, and with that potential set-up, who knows who will come out on top?”
