In a week where Barcelona dumped Manchester City out of Europe, former Liverpool man Suarez proved the difference at the Nou Camp.

The Uruguayan struck the decisive blow in the second-half to seal victory for the hosts and extend their lead at the top of La Liga to four points.

Jeremy Mathieu opened the scoring before Cristiano Ronaldo hit back for Real, leaving Suarez to settle this El Clasico in Barca's favour.

Luis Enrique's side could not repeat their stunning form from midweek against City, but still proved too good for Real.

The pressure will continue on Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti, who is struggling to get the best out of his expensively assembled Galacticos.

Barca's attacking trio of Suarez, Lionel Messi and Neymar did the damage in this clash, labelled pre-match by the Spanish media as 'MSN' to Real's 'BBC' - Benzena, Bale, Cristiano.

And Neymar celebrated the win by posting a pic with his South American team-mates from the dressing room.
