Why not Chelsea? Thibaut Courtois tells sought-after Real Madrid starlet to join Atletico
CHELSEA star Thibaut Courtois tried to get Real Madrid starlet Alex Joosten to join him at Atletico Madrid.
The 19-year-old is considered to be the natural heir to Courtois in the Belgian national team.
And the Blues ace wanted to personally oversee Joosten's development by getting him to Atletico.
Courtois spent three seasons on loan at Atletico before returning to Chelsea this year.

He asked me to think about a transfer to Atletico Madrid
But he tried to sell Spanish-born Joostens on a move to the Rojiblancos in 2011.
Joostens told Het Nieuwsblad: "He asked me to think about a transfer to Atletico Madrid, where he was under contract.
"But he also said that if I were to choose Real, that would be a good step in my career.
"I thought it was very special that he called me, but my mind was already fixed, because I had already signed my contract with Real Madrid."
