The usually stoic Mourinho proved the joker in Chelsea's post-match celebratory pack as he slid along the front of the trophy lift to get involved.

It was a far cry from his previous celebrations when winning trophies with Chelsea.

The boss famously threw his medal into the crowd when Chelsea won the Premier League for the second time in 2006.

He was remembered for quickly departing the on-pitch celebrations when he steered Porto to the Champions League final two years previous - a match that arguably landed him his managerial role at Chelsea.

But there was none of the stern face at Wembley this afternoon as he soaked up the atmosphere, although he also insisted that delirium would not last long.

"You are never too old to celebrate, you don't have enough trophies not to celebrate," he said.

"For me this is 24 but I am like a kid with the first one.

"Now I blow kisses to everyone that is happy because we are happy, but this is quick, there is no time for big celebrations, let's go home.

"I have the hat-trick of League Cups and it is nice to have it. Museum, history, but we have to go on and chase another one."
