Liverpool eye £80m TRIPLE swoop to beat Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea to Serie A stars

LIVERPOOL are ready to splash almost £80m on a trio of new signings from Italy this summer.

Miralem Pjanic Player Profile

Brendan Rodgers aroused suspicion by flying out for Rome in midweek, leaving the media to speculate as to the purpose of his visit.

And while some reports suggested that Roma's Miralem Pjanic was the reason for Rodgers' trip, it seems the Northern Irishman won't be content merely to sign the Bosnian midfielder.

Indeed, it is claimed that in addition to planning a £25m bid for the former Lyon man, the Reds will also look to bring Radja Nainggolan - also of Roma - and Keita Balde Diao - of Rome rivals Lazio - to Anfield.

Brendan Rodgers has been busy in Rome

Nainggolan, like Pjanic, has previously been linked with Manchester United and is also thought to be attracting interest from Arsenal and Chelsea.

The combative Belgian has a £25.9m release clause in his contract and Rodgers believes the 26-year-old may be the man to replace Steven Gerrard in the middle of the park.

Meanwhile, Diao - a former Barcelona youth star - is wanted to boost Rodgers attacking options.

The 19-year-old has impressed at Lazio since leaving Catalonia in 2011 and is thought to be available for around £25m.
