There's a special comfort in slipping into a well-made bed at night, especially when the bedding has been freshly washed.

According to bed expert Ashley Hainsworth from Bed Kingdom, achieving the elegant look of hotel beds is simpler than you might think.

Ashley explained how using a coat hanger is a more efficient method for tucking sheets under the mattress, ensuring a tight, crease-free finish.

This technique is even more effective than using fingers to tuck, and it's even endorsed by home and cleaning guru Stacey Solomon, who adopted it to avoid breaking her nails when tidying up.

“The wooden coat hanger is sturdy enough to have some pressure put behind it and can fit into tighter spaces better than your hand can,” Ashley said.

“It can also reach further, meaning your sheets are pushed further under the mattress, creating a sharp, uncrumpled appearance.”

The expert continued: “So there’s no need to spend hours trying to iron the bedding.

“Use the coat hanger to push the duvet under the mattress or into the bed frame if your type of frame allows.”

Stacey took to Instagram to divulge the interesting bed-making trick in view of her 5.7 million followers.

In a clip titled ‘Make the bed with me,’ the Sort Your Life Out host shared: “There’s just something so satisfying about fresh sheets.

“It’s sheet day on Sunday but I did nothing yesterday except play in the garden, so starting the week with fresh sheets instead.”

The 34-year-old proceeded to film herself standing on the bed she shares with TV presenter husband Joe Swash as she made the bed with a fitted sheet and duvet.

Using an old wooden coat hanger, she demonstrated pulling the duvet cover tightly and tucking it snugly under the mattress to achieve a flawless finish.
