2. Philodendrons
This popular houseplant is similarly able to purify the air by removing formaldehyde gases, which is "a colorless, flammable gas with a strong smell," according to the Government of California, which is known to have relatively progressive consumer protection and environmental laws.
3. English Ivy
This popular houseplant is "easy to grow and removes most pollutants," according to the Old Farmer's Almanac.
