Piers Morgan reacts to Matt Hancock's 'aggressive' claims about him as he shares regret
Matt Hancock named Piers Morgan among those who had been "totally unreasonable" towards him throughout his career - during the filming of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins - and Piers has now spiritedly reacted to the claim.
Piers Morgan thanked Matt Hancock for his scathing remarks in front of his 8.7 million Twitter followers today, saying it was the best compliment he'd ever received.
He attached a clip of a haunted-looking Matt exclaiming: "I've been interrogated in the most aggressive way by people being totally unreasonable. Have you met Piers Morgan?"
Piers then triumphantly quipped: "Thanks @MattHancock - this is the most pleasing compliment of my career. Just wish I’d gone harder."
"Everyone is scared of you interrogating them!" chimed in @_synno in the comments section.
He then added in a further comment below: "You have become a national hero!"

Matt Hancock has already endured a series of gruelling Bushtucker Trials during his reality show career, which saw him eat vomit-inducing foods and get up close and personal with creepy crawlies.
However, his encounters on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! seem to have been less jarring for Matt than an inquisition session with Piers Morgan.
In his role as Health Secretary during the coronavirus pandemic, Matt made himself very unpopular over his policies on how to handle the spread of the virus, and he was also forced to step down after being spotted breaking lockdown rules to kiss his aide Gina Coladangelo.
The footage spelt the end of Matt's marriage, and he went on to start dating Gina publicly - but Piers has never forgotten the events that led up to that.

Last year, he blasted his decision to become a reality star, while broadcasting from his local pub, in a TalkTV segment titled "Last Orders for Hancock?".
“Matt Hancock is, of course, the man who puts the cock in Hancock, so tonight I’ve come to The Cock Inn, which happens to be Matt Hancock’s local pub,” he stated at the time.
"[He] shouldn’t be taking part in I’m a Celebrity. He’s not a celebrity, he’s a shamed politician, who caused thousands of deaths with his decision-making," Piers claimed.
While Piers has made no secret of his contempt for Matt's stint in the jungle, he has claimed that his interaction with Piers is one reason why he felt obliged to sign up for it.
"What the public knew about me was through a particular lens. Coming on this programme and Piers Morgan chatting monologues at me for 20 minutes," he complained on Good Morning Britain.
"My primary motivation was to communicate with people about who I am as a person," he continued, claiming that he would have considered appearing on the show even if he was only paid "a tenner" for it.
Piers later tweeted: "Matt Hancock, during a toe-curling interview (great job Susanna [Reid] & Richard [Arnold]) on @GMB just whined it was ‘ridiculous’ that I held him to tough vigorous account during the pandemic."
Referring to his publicly documented lockdown affair, he added: "If I’d known what a lying rule-breaking toad he really was, I’d have gone much harder!"
