DOCUMENTARY: Who Do You Think You Are? Boris Johnson

Some pleasant surprises await Boris

IN this second episode of the genealogy series, London Mayor Boris Johnson (pictured) explores the myths surrounding his ancestry.

The eldest of four children, Johnson has heard many stories over the years about his rich and diverse roots.

Now he hopes this journey into the past will separate fact from fiction and help him to discover more about his paternal grandparents and their backgrounds.

Johnson begins by visiting his father Stanley, who reveals that his own grandfather, Ali Kemal (Stanley’s father’s father), was half-Turkish and suffered an untimely death in 1922.

When Johnson travels to Turkey to find out more about Ali, a politician and journalist, he is shocked at the gruesome manner of his ancestor’s demise.

He also looks at the life of his father’s mother, fondly called Granny Butter, who recounted tales of an aristocratic French heritage.

Suspicious of these claims, Johnson sets off on his travels once more, hoping to unearth a glamorous past. Along the way, some pleasant surprises await him.

REALITY: Dangerous Jobs For Girls

Three more women set out to prove they're as capable as men

THREE more women, all high achievers, set out to prove they are capable as men when it comes to tough, physical and dangerous jobs.

Taking on the challenge this week are armed police officer Geri Savage, 32, boxer and trainee solicitor Nasreen Hussain, 24, and Royal Navy officer Angie Pearce, 33.

All three will train as commercial game hunters on the plains of South Africa where they will shoot, retrieve, hang and gut hundreds of animals.

Described as brutal, bloody and risky work by Deon Strydom, one of three men who will teach the girls the ropes, can this fearless trio prove they have what it takes to cut it in this predominantly male-run business?

Or will they return home as committed vegetarians?
