WORLD WAR THREE fears have escalated in light of recent images that have emerged, showing Russia and China joining to launch their largest every military drill together. Which countries are the safest to hide (and survive) in a large scale war?

The images have prompted fears of another World War as 300,000 soldiers perform military drills in Russia and China.
Military vehicles such as planes, ships and cars have all been spotted working together in force preparations. It has raised concerns in regards to the large-scale military operation.
The safest countries to hide around the world are the ones that have been neutral in previous wars, have a strong military defence or a terrain that protects the country.
With rich resources also a concern, which countries would people survive in the best during World War Three?

Being so secluded, it is rarely invaded due to the difficulty in travelling to it.
New Zealand is also one of the most self-sufficient places in the world when it comes to food and agriculture, and has little draining of resources system thanks to a low population.
No dangerous wildlife and a lack of violence and terrorism both make it one of the safer options.
Canada
While the country is part of NATO, the large land mass is home to a number of regions that are lacking a population.
Yukon, found in the northwest of Canada, is sparse of people and very mountainous, making it a great place to hide.
Iceland
For similar reasons, the island is often considered very safe to hide in.
Crime is extremely low, and there is little struggle between classes or genders, being one of the most inclusive for LGBT rights and the majority of citizens being middle class.
There is also no military armed forces, eliminating the country as a threat.
For those who choose to flee there, the terrain also protects it from invasion, being an island and a number of glaciers and arctic temperatures to deter armies.
Norway
Not only is the Scandinavian country one of the safest, but it also has what is known as the “doomsday vault,” also called the Global Seed Vault.
Inside are nearly a million seeds from all across the world, according to Time, from India, Mexico and Syria and could be used to repopulate food in the world in case of a large scale war.
The fjords in the country could also protect the land with the difficult land making it hard to scale.

Switzerland
Despite being landlocked in the middle of Europe, which would undoubtedly be dragged into World War Three, the country is one of the safest in the world.
Switzerland has a mandatory military service for all men in the country with women able to volunteer.
They also remained neutral throughout both of the previous World Wars.
There are an estimated 20,000 bunkers throughout the country to hide in, with the city of Lucerne home to the largest in the world which can hold 2,000 people.
Bhutan
Another landlocked country, Bhutan is one of the safest countries thanks to the terrain.
Not only is it extremely secluded, but the area is home to some of the most rugged mountains in the world, making it difficult to invade.
