REVEALED: Why Ghana stars Kevin-Prince Boateng and Sulley Muntari were sent home
AN official statement from the Ghana Football Association has revealed that Ghana stars Kevin-Prince Boateng and Sulley Muntari have been sent home from the World Cup for physically and verbally attacking Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah.
The incident was sparked after a training ground bust-up between the two players.
And after coach Appiah's attempts to intervene - he received a deluge of abuse from the pair including loud cries of "F*** off."
The fight has left Ghanian football in a state of shock and the pair no longer allowed to represent their country at the finals.
The Ghana Football Association have reacted quickly and released a statement on their official website, it read: "The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has approved coach Kwesi Appiah’s decision to suspend Kevin-Prince Boateng and Sulley Ali Muntari indefinitely from the Black Stars."
The pair have been sent home for different offences.
Sulley Ali Muntari has been sent home for a higher severity offence described as an "unprovoked physical attack on an Executive Committee member of the GFA and a management member of the Black Stars, Mr. Moses Armah."
Meanwhile Kevin-Prince Boateng has been suspended for his "vulgar verbal insults targeted at coach Kwesi Appiah during the team’s training session."
