The bad blood between the pair began yesterday afternoon when McGregor gave a scathing assessment on Nurmagomedov's UFC 219 victory over Edson Barboza.
It didn't take Nurmagomedov too long to get wind of McGregor's latest dig at him, and he responded by referencing his sole loss inside the Octagon.
That tweet was followed up by a photoshopped picture of himself riding a bear and chasing a fleeing McGregor, who had his UFC belt wrapped around his shoulder.
McGregor has never been the type of person to let anyone get one over him, and he responded to Dagestan native in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
"I slaughter your pets and wear them as coats," the UFC's lightweight champion tweeted.
"And I only wear them once."

McGregor, 21-3, hasn’t set foot inside the Octagon since claiming the lightweight title at UFC 205, a card which saw him become the first fighter in UFC history to hold two titles simultaneously.
His first fight back in the promotion is expected to be a lightweight title unification bout against interim 155lbs champion Tony Ferguson.
