England victory overshadowed by sickening head injury to full back Mike Brown

ENGLAND romped to a second Six Nations victory by crushing Italy but added another casualty to their growing injury list.

Brown was stretchered off in a neck brace

The Harlequins star was given oxygen on the pitch as he was given treatment for nearly ten minutes after his head collided with the hip of London Wasps centre Andrea Masi in the 13th minute.

Brown’s injury came just a week after Wales came under fire after winger George North for keeping him on the pitch after twice appearing to be knocked out playing against England last Friday.

He appeared by the side of the pitch in the second half to a huge round of applause and should be fit for the trip to Ireland in two week’s time if he passes concussion tests.
