Fresh Irish wary
IRELAND have the benefit of being fresh as Italy visit the Aviva Stadium today after the farcical postponement of their game against France in Paris.
But they have to play their remaining four Six Nations fixtures on successive weekends in a World Cup-style commitment and Lions flanker Stephen Ferris said: “There’s no doubt four successive Test matches
will be very demanding but we are used to it. We did it at the World Cup and play week-in, week-out for the provinces.”
Centre Gordon D’Arcy added: “The importance of beating Italy is an absolute no-brainer.”
