England coach Eddie Jones makes BIZARRE Jonny May claim after Six Nations win
EDDIE JONES has compared Jonny May to a dog following the wing's hat-trick in the 44-8 victory against France this afternoon.
May ran the left flank magnificently as he chased and hustled for every kick behind the France defence.
It was during the first of many rangy sprints, kicked through by Elliot Daly, when May got his hand to the ball to score inside two minutes.
And he did not have to wait too long for his second, captain Owen Farrell the provider on that occasion.
With 29 minutes on the clock, the Leicester Tigers star completed his hat-trick latching onto Chris Ashton's kick.
May almost had a fourth in the second half as he chased another punt up field but he was tackled and Farrell was able to complete the try.
After the match Jones hailed his match-winner but also used a bizarre analogy to praise the 28-year-old's work-rate.
"Jonny May on the kick chase is like watching dogs in the park," Jones said.
"You know when you throw (hand signals) and then he brings it back every time."
May took his Six Nations try tally up to four following his effort in the brilliant win against Ireland in round one.
And he was delighted to put on such a performance in front of his home fans.
"Trying to raise the bar after last week was the challenge, but we came out and definitely played some good rugby today," May said.
"The brand of rugby we want to play, we want to put teams under pressure.
"I’m just doing my job, we are all working hard and putting some good performances together.
"We have learnt a lot and worked incredibly hard, and it’s paid off in the end.
"To score a hat-trick at Twickenham is awesome and very special, I’m very lucky."
