England hockey team on course for World Cup
ASHLEY JACKSON says England are on the right track for the World Cup next month after they demolished Scotland 5-1 yesterday.
Man-of-the-match Jackson set England on their way with a goal in the eighth minute, as they secured third place in the Four Nations tournament in Glasgow.
David Condon claimed two goals, with Simon Mantell and Alastair Brogdon also getting on the scoresheet for England, with Wei Adams replying for Scotland.
“We’re improving every time we play,” said Jackson. “We’ll be in a better position when we go to the World Cup.”
Belgium beat Argentina in a penalty shoot-out in the ?nal.
