WINTER OLYMPICS: David Murdoch steps up to plate as GB men's Curlers reach semi-finals
GREAT BRITAIN captain David Murdoch made it count when it mattered most as he guided the men's curlers to the semi-finals in dramatic circumstances.
Murdoch superbly executed his final stone to help Britain pick up two points and prevail 6-5 in a thrilling match.
Britain had gone into this game knowing their semi-final hopes were hanging in the balance after losing against China by the same scoreline.
Murdoch's men struggled to get a foothold in the game and trailed 4-2 in the seventh end.
However, the skipper restored parity as the tension mounted with two superb stones.
And in the final end, Murdoch produced a moment of brilliance to score a double to secure victory.
Great Britain will now have two teams in the semi-finals - the men will face Sweden while the women will pit their wits against in-form Canada.
