responded to huge boos and jeers by the crowd in in his typical style, cupping his ears and reminding fans of outfit of their latest scoreline. The fan received a hostile reception on Thursday as he took on in the night's opening match.

As Littler walked onto the stage, he was met with boos from the majority of the crowd and immediately replied by cupping his ears and making a '2-0' gesture with his fingers, referencing win over the previous evening.

The Reds' Premier League title hopes took a major hit at Goodison Park, where goals from Jarrad Branthwaite and Dominic Calvert-Lewis dealt a hammer blow in Klopp's final season at Liverpool.

Littler had been expecting a hostile reception at Liverpool when his United team knocked them out of the last month.

Moments after United reached the semi-final thanks to Amad Diallo's 121st-minute winner in extra-time, Littler took to social media to mock Liverpool over their hopes of a treble being dashed.

He posted an image of himself and Klopp, captioned: "What is the difference between Luke Littler and Jurgen Klopp. Littler has more trebles!"

Littler has since deleted the post on X (formerly known as Twitter), but it appears that Liverpool fans did not forget his actions and made their discontent well-known before his quarter-final with Price.

However, the 17-year-old was undeterred by the jeers and promptly dispatched of Price in his opening match, taking a 6-3 win.

In the matchwinning leg, Littler reduced his tally to 92 before checking out in style with treble 20 and then double 16, ensuring his Welsh opponent no longer had a mathematical chance of reaching this year's play-offs.
