NBA legend makes BOLD Giannis Antetokounmpo and James Harden claim
GIANNIS ANTETOKOUNMPO is leading the race for the league’s Most Valuable Player (MVP).
That is according to two-time NBA champion Chris Bosh.
Antetokounmpo has led the Milwaukee Bucks to the top of the Eastern Conference this season, emerging as one of the outstanding players in the NBA.
The side have an impressive 43-14 record this season and are poised to secure a favourable draw to the conference final.
The Greek Freak is averaging 27.1 points per game this season, along with 12.6 rebounds and 5.9 assists.
Nobody is talking about Giannis
Shaquille O’Neal earmarked him as the heir to his ’Superman’ title back in November and Antetokounmpo has maintained his standing since.
The 24-year-old faces competition for the MVP title, however, from Houston Rockets’ James Harden.
After a shaky start to the season, the Rockets now stand fifth in the Western Conference thanks to Harden’s phenomenal point-scoring.
He is currently on a streak of 31 consecutive 30-point-plus games and most people choice for the MVP title, which he won last season.
So far this campaign the Californian has averaged 36.5 points, 7.8 assists and 6.7 rebounds.
But former Miami Heat power forward Bosh believes Antetokounmpo should be awarded the gong for his importance to the Bucks.
“Giannis Antetokounmpo for MVP, man,” the pundit said on Undisputed.
“Nobody is talking about Giannis. You would pick the Milwaukee Bucks in first, right now in the pre-season.
“Would you say the Milwaukee Bucks are going to have home court advantage throughout the playoffs?
“[What James Harden’s doing is amazing] but I give the nod to Giannis because they’re in first place, he’s playing amazing.
“Giannis Antetokounmpo for MVP, everybody.”
