Usain Bolt’s in shape for a record Olympics
USAIN BOLT has downplayed any chance of him being a record breaker in Ostrava tonight – but is convinced the Olympics will be the time and place.
Bolt races the 100metres at the Golden Spike meeting, in a field containing Britain’s Dwain Chambers, aiming to improve on his 9.82secs, the best so far this year.
But the triple Olympic champion feels his world-record 9.58secs will go at the Games. He said: “If I’m in great shape nobody will beat me in London, that’s for sure.
“If I’m as fit as I want to be then I think I’ll be in better shape than I’ve ever been. I guess if I’m in great shape, with a good start, it should be a world record.
“I don’t think it will be this race because I’ve just started the season and I have a few things to iron out.”
