Wie stays clear of men
MICHELLE WIE has confirmed she will return to the Ricoh British Women’s Open at Royal Lytham in July rather than mix it with the men.
Wie, 19, who finished third as an amateur at the Open in 2005, played in the Reno-Tahoe Open on the men’s PGA Tour during last year’s Championship rather than wait for an invitation after failing to qualify.
“I feel like this season represents a fresh start for me,” said Wie, who is combining the LPGA Tour with her studies at Stanford University.
“Winning the Ricoh Women’s British Open would be a huge accomplishment and it is certainly something I want to experience in my career.”
