Another Lithuanian arrives at Hearts
Former Moscow Dinamo defender Arunas Klimavicius last night jetted into Edinburgh to join Hearts on trial for a week.
This is the latest move by team boss Csaba Laszlo to strengthen his rearguard since the £2.3 million sale of club captain Christophe Berra to Wolves during the last transfer window.
The 26 year old Lithuanian started his career in his homeland before moving to Russia and more recently has been playing in Holland with Vitesse Arnhem.
The centre back is a free agent available to join a new club straight away and last night the Hearts manager said: "We are bringing Arunas over to Scotland so that we can have a close look at him working with the first team.
"After that we will make a decisions as to whether he might be a candidate to join us."
Klimavicius is to stranger to the Scotland scene having played for his national team against the Scots in the Euro 2008 qualifying match at Hampden in September 2007.

Hearts boss Laszlo has a list of potential candidates he would like to bring to Tynecastle either as free agents or signings when the next transfer window opens at the end of the season.
Laszlo has made it clear that he is anxious to find a blend of imported talent and home grown players to take the club forward.
There’s already been a heavy investment on a youth development programme in recent years and the team boss sees it as being imperative that this continues.
The manager firmly believes the home grown talent is of sufficient quality to take a key role in the future of the Edinburgh club.
He pointed to the fact that the half of the squads of both Hearts and Aberdeen who faced up to each other in Gorgie on Saturday were Scottish.
TheJambos started with five Academy produced stars in their eleven with the Dons having four while, on the bench, it was a role reversal with four for Hearts and five for the Dons.
