Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp confirms Dejan Lovren and Daniel Sturridge are close to a return
Lovren has missed Liverpool's last two matches and missed their mid-season training camp in La Manga after seeing a specialist in Germany about his knee injury earlier this week.
But Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that the Croatia international's injury is not a long-term concern and could return against Leicester on Monday (8pm).
"Dejan Lovren couldn’t join us [at La Manga] but he was running today and felt good, he could take a few more steps in the right direction," Klopp said.
Dejan Lovren could return against Leicester on Monday
"There’s no long-term concern about his knee.
"Before Chelsea he struggled a little bit, in the warm-up it felt better but after the game the pain was too big for him.
"About five minutes ago I spoke to him and he was really well running outside and should be training tomorrow.
"He will be very, very close for the Leicester game."
Sturridge has recovered from his virus and returned to training today
Klopp also confirmed that Daniel Sturridge returned to training today after recovering from a virus, which caused him to be sent home from their trip to Spain.
"I knew La Manga would be good as I’d been there five times for Dortmund," Klopp added.
"Unfortunately not all the players could join us. Daniel tried but we had to send him home.
"He’ll probably come in today for the first time after a few days."
