The Belgium international has struggled to lay down a first-team spot at Chelsea since his £33.2million move from Marseille in the summer.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has favoured Diego Costa, who is the Premier League's top scorer with six goals, in a one-man pronged attack flanked by Eden Hazard and Willian.
Batshuayi has been limited to appearances from the bench in the league and his one and only start came in the 3-2 win over Bristol Rovers in the EFL Cup, scoring two goals in the process.
But, the report suggests the 23-year-old was not a signing Conte wanted in the summer.
