Diego Simeone and Antonio Conte are set to go head to head for the Chelsea job
The pair are both fancied by the bookies, with Conte currently at 5/6 with Skybet and Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone at 6/4.
And according to website Football Insider the highly-experienced pair will be pitted against each other by the Chelsea board.
The 46-year-old is believed to have informed the FIGC (Italian Football Federation) he will step down as manger following the European Championships in France this summer.
And he is understood to be taking English lessons in preparation for a 'new challenge outside Italy', having previously won three Serie A titles with Juventus.
Chelsea's best sell-ons
Simeone meanwhile has reportedly already made plans to leave Atletico and has informed the directors of his decision to depart at the end of the season.
Spanish publication Don Balon claim talks have already been held with Chelsea over a £9.3million-a-year deal.
And the 'dizzying' offer plus Simeone's dissatisfaction at losing star players like Radamel Falcao and Diego Costa have prompted him to leave the Vicente Calderon.
