Liverpool News: Dortmund transfer boost, Klopp clueless, double midfielder injury woe
EXPRESS SPORT brings you the latest news and gossip coming out of Anfield.
Liverpool's news covers Ilkay Gundogan, Jurgen Klopp, Adam Lallana and Kevin Stewart
Liverpool target Ilkay Gundogan is reportedly ready to walk out on Borussia Dortmund after failing to agree a new contract.
The midfielder worked with Jurgen Klopp at the Westfalenstadion and, according to Bild, the Reds boss is keen on a reunion at Anfield.
Gundogan said on his future: ”I appreciate this wonderful club very much, but my life plan also looks at some time with a new challenge."
Liverpool have suffered another injury blow with two midfielders ruled out of their Europa League clash with FC Augsburg.
Klopp’s first return to Germany tomorrow at 8.05pm sees the Reds travel without crocked Adam Lallana and Kevin Stewart.
The manager confirmed ahead of the trip that England international Lallana has a calf problem, while Stewart has suffered ligament damage in training.
A positive though is the return of Lucas who has shaken off a hamstring issue.
With midfielders Joe Allen and Jordan Rossiter also currently sidelined, Liverpool are stretched in the middle with the Capital One Cup final fast approaching.
