Arsenal transfer boost as details of Barcelona's failed deal are revealed
ARSENAL are reportedly still in the race to sign Celta Vigo attacker Nolito as details of his failed transfer to Barcelona emerge.
Arsenal and Barcelona were both keen to sign Nolito in January
Nolito, 29, was reportedly trailed by the Gunners during the January transfer window.
But Barca were more forceful in trying to land the ace.
They were locked in negotiations with Celta for much of the month and appeared to have agreed to pay £13.8million (€18m) for the player.
Barca also had the option to reverse the transfer if they saw fit.
Celta reportedly declined the offer and appear determined to get the full fee for their man, who is 30 in October, up front.
Arsenal failed to sign any outfield players during the 2015 summer window and added just one man, Mohamed Elneny, to their first-team squad last month.
