Liverpool on alert as Borussia Dortmund star hails Jurgen Klopp days after shock admission
ILKAY GUNDOGAN has potentially opened the door to a move to Liverpool just days after Borussia Dortmund's CEO said they were prepared for Jurgen Klopp to bid for their players.
Could Ilkay Gundogan be tempted by a move to Liverpool
Gundogan was apparently a summer target for several clubs including Manchester United and Arsenal but opted to commit his future to the Bundesliga club, signing a one-year contract extension.
Earlier this week, Dortmund chief Hans-Joachim Watzke claimed there would be no "conflict" if Klopp attempted to sign one of his former players.
"But I do not know when that moment will be yet.
"I believe everybody here at Dortmund wants to be back in the Champions League next season and anything else would be a major disappointment.
"But that does not mean that I will definitely leave if we don't qualify. I'm not that kind of person. I would already have left last summer had that been one of the criteria for me."
