Man Utd chief Ed Woodward flies back to England to resolve goalkeeping crisis
ED WOODWARD has reportedly flown back to England to resolve Manchester United's goalkeeper situation.
David De Gea - Spotlight On
United chief Woodward was with the club on their pre-season tour in America.
But Louis van Gaal's bust up with Victor Valdes and David De Gea's desire to move to Real Madrid mean Woodward is facing pressure to sort out the position.
United maintain that they are still only willing to let De Gea move back to Spain if Real send Sergio Ramos in the other direction.
But if that takes place, United could be left without either a first-choice or a back-up stopper.
According to AS, Woodward wants the situation sorted as soon as possible.
David De Gea and Victor Valdes could both leave Manchester United
The Telegraph reported yesterday that Argentine free agent Sergio Romero was having a medical at United - but he is seen as a replacement for Valdes.
Instead, the Spanish paper suggests that the race for the number one shirt should De Gea depart is now down to Atletico Madrid's Jan Oblak or Ajax's Jasper Cillessen.
