Arsenal Transfer News: SHOCK Toure switch, Suarez's failed move, Diaby's new deal
EXPRESS SPORT brings you the latest from the Emirates.
Yaya Toure Player Profile
Arsenal could reportedly make a surprise move for Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure this summer.
Toure has thrown doubt over his City future by suggesting he is open to an Etihad exit.
"No amount of wages will make me stay at a club if I feel that I no longer belong there or if no challenge exists for me," he said.
And according to the Daily Star Arsenal are among a number of top European clubs who could pounce for the 31-year-old.
Arsenal tried to sign Luis Suarez before he joined Barcelona last summer
The former Liverpool star completed a £75million switch to Barcelona last July but was close to joining their rivals when Arsenal tabled a £40,000,001 bid.
"This was my most uncomfortable time with Luis," Suarez's representative Pere Guardiola said. "Especially for me and our relationship."
Arsene Wenger wants to give Abou Diaby another contract
Arsenal are set to give injury-prone midfielder Abou Diaby another contract.
The Telegraph report the Gunners are considering a pay-as-you-play deal for Diaby, who has seen his career blighted by injuries.
"Diaby hasn't a mental problem but a problem of injury," Arsenal boss Wenger said.
"He is a player for whom I have great respect. Whenever he returns, he is injured and he goes from zero. He was destroyed by a bad tackle. It has restricted the mobility of his ankle. If he comes back, I will keep him. I always believed in him."
