Reus, 25, is wanted by a host of European clubs, including three from the Premier League.

Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool have all reportedly trailed the Germany international over the past season, with an eye on securing his services this summer.

Reus recently signed a new Dortmund contract lasting until 2019 but could still leave the Bundesliga outfit if the offer is right.

AS claim Real are considering a £25million initial offer to test the waters, the same amount that was on his previous release clause.

United were thought to be leading the way for Reus after manager Louis van Gaal revealed he is seeking to sign a midfielder in the transfer window.

But Liverpool are also preparing for life without captain Steven Gerrard, while Arsenal are seeking recruits for a title push next season.

Reus has scored 11 goals in 24 games for club and country this season in a campaign dogged by injuries.

He missed the World Cup in Brazil last summer due to an ankle injury and only last month he limped off in a German cup game against Dynamo Dresden.
