Manchester United have identified Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke as a potential summer target, according to the Daily Star.

And according to the Sun, United are eyeing German ace Ilkay Gundogan to cover injury-prone Michael Carrick or potentially play with the England star if Louis van Gaal opts to play with two deep-lying midfielders.

Elsewhere at Old Trafford, youngster James Wilson looks set to be heading out on loan to gain more first-team experience. 

Newcastle look to be keen to land the youngster on a temporary move next season. 

United players took to social media to express their disappointment after their 1-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
