A Bola claims that representatives from the Blues were present for Benfica's 5-1 win over Academica on Saturday, with Jose Mourinho believed to be preparing a summer bid.

Mohamed Salah is set to remain with Fiorentina for at least another season on loan, and Chelsea are said to be looking for a new attacking midfielder in order to boost competition in their squad.

Gaitan has also been linked with a switch to Old Trafford in recent times following an apparent enquiry from the Red Devils in the January transfer window.

And it is thought that a bid of £30million will be enough to secure the Argentina international's signature, who has scored four times in 25 appearances during the current campaign.
