Sergio Aguero hit a double against Manchester United

Aguero's double saw the Argentine reach 100 goals for Manchester City.

But the striker admitted it was hard to be too happy about the achievement given the defeat at the hands of United.

Yesterday left a sour taste.

He said: "Yesterday left a sour taste. But I want to thank everyone for the congratulations on reaching 100 goals for City."

Shaun Goater was the last City player to reach the landmark, and praised the 26-year-old's ability to muster a goal out of nothing.

He told the City website: "It's a great achievement. He's unbelievable, with Aguero even when there looks to be no options on, he finds an option. He's incredible, with his speed and his low centre of gravity.

"Defenders are always aware of him, they know when they are playing he is there.

Manuel Pellegrini: United clear winners in Manchester derby

"The thing about Sergio is we still don't know how good he can be.

"I guess when he looks back at his career he will want medals, to have something to show for how good he is, and he can get those with City."
