Cavani has been heavily linked with Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool in recent weeks.

And yesterday it was claimed that the player was set for showdown talks with PSG to insist that they let him play in his preferred position or let him leave.

But Al Khelaifi insists no meeting is scheduled and that Cavani won't be going anywhere.

He is young and he is the future of the club. He will be at PSG next season.

He told French paper Le Parisien: "I'm not scheduled to meet him.

"He is young and he is the future of the club. He will be at PSG next season."

Yesterday, the same paper quoted a source close to Cavani as saying: "There is no question that he will not stay one more season if the sporting situation doesn't change. This is the bottom line.

"Edinson understood that, in the interests of the team, he had to play on the right side and he has done that for two years now.

"But that's not to say that the position suits him.

"He wants to play at the axis of the attack - his preferred position - and not only when Ibrahimovic is absent.

"He needs continuity in that position to fully express the qualities that made him a top scorer in Italy."
