Kenny Miller puts talks on hold until the end of the year

The Ibrox side crashed to a 3-0 defeat at Queen of the South on Thursday, but the hitman, left, insists they remain on track for promotion.

He said: “This is a club I’ve spent a lot of time at throughout my career and I absolutely love the place, which is why I wanted to come back.

“To get us back to the Premiership would be huge and everyone is focused on that.

“Everyone should put contracts and the likes on hold because it’s more important we get back to where we belong.

“I’m not really worried or thinking about the contract situation too much because a big part of it will come down to whether or not we’re successful.

“Everybody has to get their head down and realise the most important thing is to get the club back to the Premiership.

“After that, if we’ve done it, then there is probably going to be a better chance of people getting contracts.”

Miller also issued a warning as the play-offs beckon. He added: “We know come the play-offs – whether it be Hibs, Queen of the South, Falkirk or Raith Rovers – they are going to be tough matches home and away and we’re going to have to be at the top of our game to get through.

“We can still finish the season on a real high by getting back to the Premiership, which is where we wanted to be when we started out on this journey three years ago.”
