Nigel Pearson: Esteban Cambiasso is loving Leicester's survival fight

NIGEL PEARSON believes Esteban Cambiasso is playing the best football of his career and relishing the prospect of keeping Leicester in the Premier League.

Foxes must improve , says Pearson [AMBIENT]

The Argentine legend has seen it all in his career that has included winning the Champions League, five Italian titles and 52 caps.

But Pearson reckons the challenge he faces now is bringing out the very best out of the midfielder who has quickly become Leicester's talisman despite being 34.

"I'm pleased we have him," said Pearson ahead of today's trip to West Brom.

"His experience is important and whenever you get to situations where there is pressure on you it is important to be able to deal with it.

"He's been able to deal with pressure throughout his career, different pressure to what we are under now but he's very much relishing the challenge.

"He's been a world-class player and we wouldn't have him if he was five years younger, that's the reality."

Nigel Pearson says Esteban Cambiasso is loving Leicester's relegation battle

West Brom manager Tony Pulis insists he has calmed down with age and there was no angry reaction at half-time against QPR last week.

Albion were 3-0 down at the break and ended up losing 4-1 but the ex-Stoke boss was adamant he kept his cool.

"I think I've mellowed actually in respect to what I used to be like," said Pulis.

"You have to deal with the situation at the time and it's disappointing, like I say, to get beat in the fashion we did first half."
