BRENDAN RODGERS insists he will not be content with Liverpool’s FA Cup exploits until he lifts the trophy at Wembley.

The Reds are into their 24th FA Cup semi-final after defeating Blackburn 1-0 in a last-eight replay on Wednesday night.

The result puts them up against seven-time Cup winners Aston Villa, while Arsenal and Reading contest the other semi-final.

And Rodgers believes the job is far from finished and that the club must strive to reclaim a top-four spot in the Premier League before worrying about an eighth FA Cup triumph.

"It's something I'm very proud of, of course, but it's a semi-final - I'll be prouder if we're leading the team out for the final.

"We've got important league games before that, but certainly getting to the final is something that is very much clear in our minds.

"Now we've got to get ready for our league game [against Newcastle United on Monday night] and when Aston Villa comes, we'll be ready for that as well."

Liverpool sit fifth in the Premier League, seven points off fourth-place Manchester City with just seven games remaining.

They play Newcastle this weekend before their semi-final trip to Wembley and still have Chelsea to face from the teams above them before the season is out.
