The Uruguayan ended up joining Barcelona in a £75m deal instead.
And Suarez claims Gerrard played a big role in persuading him to reject the overtures of Arsenal.
"For all his experience and what that means; Gerrard," Suarez told Spanish radio station Cadena COPE.
