Marin joined Chelsea from Werder Bremen in 2012, signing a five-year deal in the process, but has only made 15 appearances for the west London outfit.
And reports in Spain claim that Malaga are looking to take the 26-year-old on loan for the 2015/16 season, with Jose Mourinho apparently ready to sanction the deal.
Marin has already spent time in La Liga following his move to England, scoring twice in 30 appearances for Sevilla in the 2013/14 campaign.
