Pablo Zabaleta worried about Liverpool and Tottenham as Manchester City stumble

MANCHESTER CITY must be careful Liverpool and Tottenham don’t leapfrog them into fourth place, Pablo Zabaleta has warned.

Manchester United v Manchester City - Premier League Preview

City have dropped to fourth in the league after picking up just six points from a possible 15, as Manchester United and Arsenal vie for second spot.

And with Liverpool and Tottenham still determined to push for that final Champions League qualifying place, City must reverse their bad form fast.

So says defender Zabaleta, who also believes Southampton have a shout of pinching fourth before the season is out.

He told mcfc.co.uk: “Obviously with United and Arsenal now above us, we need to push really hard because if we can’t win the league we need to make sure we take the second position because if you can’t win trophies sometimes you just have to push to finish as well as you can.

“Fourth position would mean we would have to have a play-off to qualify for the group stage of the Champions League and we also have Liverpool, Southampton and Spurs who will be aiming to get into the top four so we need to react quickly and finish strongly.”
