Liverpool crisis is crazy! Blackburn boss Gary Bowyer addresses Brendan Rodgers' situation

ENGLISH football has turned “crazy” if Liverpool are considered to be in crisis.

Rodgers: No crisis here [AMBIENT]

That is the view of Blackburn manager Gary Bowyer, whose side face the Reds tonight for a place in the FA Cup semi-final.

Liverpool have lost their last two games - against Manchester United and Arsenal - and slipped seven points off the Premier League top four with just seven games remaining last weekend.

And with Champions League football now unlikely at Anfield next season, criticism has come manager Brendan Rodgers’ way over his dealing of the team.

But Rodgers’ counterpart Bowyer believes the Northern Irishman has done a sterling job on Merseyside and hit back at his detractors.

"I think it's ridiculous that after losing two games, the team that was hailed prior to those two games as being the best in the Premier League - which they were at the time with the football they were playing - then comes in for that," he said.

Brendan Rodgers' Liverpool face Blackburn tonight

"Brendan Rodgers has done an unbelievable job, he doesn't need me telling him. But that's just the world we live in now - it's crazy."

Blackburn head into tonight’s quarter-final replay at Ewood Park on the back of a 3-0 victory over Leeds United last weekend.

They have lost just three of their last 13 outings and are seeking to reach their first FA Cup final since 1960.
