Brendan Rodgers HINTS at Mario Balotelli return for Liverpool's FA Cup clash at Blackburn

BRENDAN RODGERS could hand Mario Balotelli a chance to resurrect his Liverpool career as early as Wednesday night.

Rodgers: No crisis here [AMBIENT]

Balotelli has struggled for consistency at Anfield this season and on Saturday missed the Reds’ away defeat to Arsenal with a reported knee injury.

He was criticised for failing to travel with the squad regardless of injury as Rodgers’ men went down 4-1 to effectively end their Champions League qualification hopes.

But, ahead of Liverpool’s FA Cup quarter-final replay with Blackburn on Wednesday, Rodgers has revealed his Italian striker could play some part if he proves his fitness.

Rodgers said: ”We've got a number of players unavailable for the game and we just need to see on one or two of the injured ones we had for the weekend.

”We'll see how they are and see if they're available for Wednesday. We'll see how Mario is this morning."

Steven Gerrard, Martin Skrtel and Emre Can are all suspended for the trip to Ewood Park.
