Kondogbia has been linked with both Arsenal and Manchester United in recent times and now Liverpool have reportedly entered the race.

The 22-year-old snubbed interest from England to move to Sevilla in 2012.

But things did not work out for the youngster in Spain and he returned to France with Monaco one season later.

Kondogbia has helped guide the Principality outfit to the quarter-finals of the Champions League this season, and that has put him firmly on Liverpool's radar.

According to reports in France, Brendan Rodgers has had scouts watch Kondogbia on several occasions this season as he prepares for life without Gerrard.

Perry Groves has previously claimed that Kondogbia would be exactly what Arsenal need, saying: "There's a lad at Monaco called Geoffrey Kondogbia who is very similar to Patrick Vieira and he played at the Emirates Cup.

"Arsenal need someone who can help in the transition from defence to attack. It would take a lot of money to get him, but he's physically imposing and he would be the perfect buy."
