Chelsea star Diego Costa set to miss Manchester United clash through injury

CHELSEA star Diego Costa could miss the upcoming clash against Manchester United after suffering another hamstring injury in the 2-1 win over Stoke.

The Blues striker lasted just 11 minutes after coming off the bench at the interval, clutching his leg in pain.

Costa suffered the initial injury in the 3-2 win over Stoke before the international period, and missed Spain's two games as a result.

Mourinho had confirmed on Friday that Costa was fit to play after taking part in two full training sessions, but opted to start Loic Remy for the clash against Mark Hughes' men this evening.

And unfortunately for the ex-Atletico Madrid man, it appears that he will the United fixture on April 18 after Mourinho revealed that he will be out for a minimum of two weeks.

For sure with that injury it will be a couple of weeks minimum

Jose Mourinho

Mourinho said: "If my medical department decides to take four weeks to recover Diego this would not happen but in football we need risks. I risk sometimes, as a manager in a result I don't like.

"We played more offensive and if the opponent scores I don't kill myself for that.

"But in all the scans they did two days ago the muscle was clear, the image was clear and the player trained twice 100%, when he did much more than he did today.

"We put him in dozens of actions and the result was correct. My medical department is fantastic so there is no problem. Next week plays Remy and Drogba, we wait for Costa again. For sure with that injury it will be a couple of weeks minimum."
