Chelsea 2 - Stoke 1: Adam scorcher fails to stop Hazard and Remy as Costa limps off

CHARLIE ADAM scored a wonder-strike as Stoke fell to a 2-1 defeat against Chelsea courtesy of goals from Eden Hazard and Loic Remy.

The Scotsman fired in a superb shot from 65 yards out moments before half-time to silence Stamford Bridge and level the scoreline.

Hazard had given Chelsea the lead from the penalty spot after Cesc Fabregas was fouled in the box.

But Adam's hit wasn't enough as a mistake from Asmir Begovic allowed Remy to wrap up the win and maintain Chelsea's lead at the top of the Premier League table.

However, the win for Jose Mourinho came at a cost as Diego Costa limped off the field after aggravating his hamstring yet again.

The striker was left on the bench after injuring himself in the 3-2 win against Stoke, and was forced off the pitch soon after he was introduced at the interval.
