Man Utd eye £25m swap deal to land Southampton star Clyne with Real flop Hernandez

MANCHESTER UNITED are preparing to offer Javier Hernandez in part-exchange for Southampton's Nathaniel Clyne, according to reports.

Nathaniel Clyne Player Profile

Hernandez looks set to leave United at the end of the season after falling out of favour under Louis van Gaal and failing to impress while on loan at Real Madrid this season.

Reports this week suggested the Mexican was a target for Bundesliga outfit Wolfsbug, but United may have other plans.

According to Goal, United will offer Hernandez plus £15million to Southampton to try and land Clyne.

Manchester United are keen on Nathaniel Clyne

The Saints are said to want £25m all up for Clyne, but United value Hernandez at £10m.

Van Gaal is said to be keen to strengthen at right-back over the summer with Clyne in contention to join the Old Trafford outfit, alongside Barcelona's Dani Alves and Everton's Seamus Coleman.

Southampton, meanwhile, tried to take Hernandez on loan last season, only to reportedly have the move blocked by David Moyes.

And Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino could yet throw a spanner in the works by trying to bring both Clyne and Hernandez to White Hart Lane instead.
