TRANSFER NEWS: Man Utd's deal for star, Sterling's Arsenal move BLOCKED, City still buying

EXPRESS SPORT brings you the latest transfer news from across the globe.

Raheem Sterling Player Profile

Raheem Sterling has been told he's staying at Liverpool by manager Brendan Rodgers.

The 20-year-old gave an interview to the BBC yesterday, and said he was flattered by the links to Arsenal.

But Rodgers says he will be going nowhere in the summer.

Manchester United are determined to lock down midfielder Andreas Pereira with a number of clubs monitoring his situation.

The Brazil under-20 star is being watched by PSG and Juventus.

Pereira has only played 13 Premier League minutes this season under Louis van Gaal and is reportedly considering his options.

However United want him to stay put.

Manuel Pellegrini insists Manchester City will continue to cherry pick the best talent from their rivals - because their new academy isn't ready to provide first team players yet.

City have been linked with moves for Sterling, Jack Wilshere and Ross Barkley.

And Pellegrini says: “I think it is important for big teams to bring in the best players - that is the most important thing.

“Do I agree with the idea? If they are good players, of course I agree. We need good players.

"All the big players, but especially the Premier league needs the best players to play.”
