Wolfsburg eye SHOCK move for Man Utd ace after giving up on Everton star and Arsenal flop

WOLFSBURG will step up their interest in Manchester United's Javier Hernandez this summer after growing up on Arsenal flop Nicklas Bendtner, according to reports.

The German outfit signed Bendtner on a free transfer over the summer but he has failed to impress in the Bundesliga.

And now the Volkswagen-backed club will look to move on from the Dane by adding another striker, according to the Daily Mail.

Everton's Romelu Lukaku is said to be the club's preferred target but the Toffees £30m-plus asking price has scuppered a move.

Manchester City's Edin Dzeko is also under consideration but is yet to decide whether he is ready to leave the Citizens for either Germany or Italy.

And with Hernandez thought to be available for a fee in the region of £8m after struggling to assert himself on loan at Real Madrid, the move could benefit all parties.

Yesterday Hernandez said: "I cooperate, I help and give my 100 per cent in training but in the games the opportunities are slim.

"I'm in a team but left out of what is important, which are the games.

"At times my confidence is rock bottom although I try for it to be sky high, thanks to the people that are always there with me and support me."
